ogden's 25th street

(isaac took this, and it's ideal!)

t and georgie came in town this week. so grandpa joe took us on an adventure to go explore his old stomping grounds in ogden. 25th street is one of the main streets in ogden that leads directly to the union train station. so it's pretty old, and pretty ideal. there's lots of antique stores and little boutiques, too bad they were all closing by the time we got there. so we went to eat instead. georgia loved pushing max, and wouldn't let anyone else help. she gave tiana the evil eye when she tried.

we love grandparents. especially these two...

georgie was having so much fun at dinner. last time georgia came to visit, she had a melt down when she saw isaac and didn't want anything to do with him. so i was surprised she sat by him at dinner. she's pretty stinkin cute, especially when she got a straw stuck up her nose.

max is wanting everything we have. so grandma gave him a glass and he went crazy.

after dinner at roosters (which was sooo amazing, by the way), we headed home. maybe next time we'll get to shop a little more. and there will definitely be a next time. i'm starting to realize how ideal utah is the more we explore it. i've kinda been in denial the past few years.

i couldn't end this without showing max's newest smile. he's found his inner grandpa.

happy happy father's day

to my husband,
i love you. max, bob, and i are so blessed to have you. everyday with you only gets better and better. thanks for being my best friend, husband, and confidant. you have given me the most beautiful boy. when he smiles i think of you. we are yours always and forever.

isaac and i have also been blessed with wonderful fathers, who are also some of the greatest grandfathers. scott t. has always been more than a father-in-law, he's been a great friend. i know i can go to him with any problem, and he can help me work through it, and he gives some of the best advice. we love you scott t. thanks for all you do for us.

one of the most special guys in my life is my step dad joe. he's more than a step dad, i think of him as my father. he's been there for me during every high and low point. he's taught me to be more patient, and kind. he always puts things in perspective. he always has my back. and he has the biggest heart of any one i know. i thank the Lord every day for letting joe come into our lives. we have been so blessed.

happy father's day everyone, love the buie's.

i love love love this picture.

isn't my grandpa so handsome? i hope max is as cute as my grandpa was when he gets older. for those of you who don't know, we named our little max after my grandpa max. he passed away a little over a year ago. i was very close to my grandpa, i always knew nobody loved me like my grandpa did. i remember telling my grandpa a few months before he died that i was going to name my first boy max. it took me the whole 9 months of my pregnancy to convince isaac max was THE only name i would accept. obviously, he didn't have a choice. it's so important to me that my little boy knows what a great man his great grandpa was. i was named after my great great grandma sophia, who came here from denmark to be a nanny for a widower with a lot of children. she ended up marrying him and having even more children. she was a beautiful, stylish woman with a wonderful heart. i never knew her but i always hear about how wonderful she was. i hope the name max will mean as much to my little boy, as the name sophia does to me.

everyone loves a baseball game.

except me. but grandpa joe bought us all tickets to the bee's game, so we went. it turned out to be pretty fun. max was more interested in his favorite toy than learning about baseball.
then auntie amy and max snuggled. max loves a good snuggle.

grandpa joe ate one of the biggest hot dogs we've ever seen.
is this little boy seriously ours? i still can't believe it.

i pretty much love these two. yay for family and baseball.

midway weekend

this past weekend we went up to midway. isaac's parents have an ideal place there, and we usually go up once a month or so. we always do the same things, but they never get old. isaac usually takes ideal pictures...

if you like this picture see more here
then we played with our little nugget. and took lots and lots of pictures of him. how cute is he getting? i can't handle it anymore. i seriously just want to eat him.

especially here...

played driveway tennis

had handstand contests. erin won.

kartwheels contest with adam. nobody won here, obviously.

max still has a flat head, but its getting better. and he's getting so much better on his tummy.

what a cute smile. love him.

love him even more here.

a date with husband.

there is barely any time for a date with your husband when you have a new baby. that's where grandma's come in. my momma is the sweetest. every week she comes over to watch maxie while i run errands and have me time. and when they can, joe and mom come to watch max at night so isaac and i can go on dates. so when they offered...isaac and i went to do one of our favorite things! antiquing!...

euro treasures isn't even in the category of antique "store". it is a massive warehouse of amazing furniture, paintings, china, books, and everything else you can imagine from europe. what more can a girl ask for? its kind of like the louvre museum, it would take 3 days to see everything it has.

then we went to our favorite place. the pub. you know you don't get out much when you spend half your dinner date taking pictures of each other.

mmm...french onion soup and potato chips. isaac gets embarassed when i do this with my soup and chips. i kind of make a mess.
and then of course we ended the date with top it frozen yogurt.

when we got home, this is where we found my sweet parents. sitting in the same chair, cuddling max. i couldn't ask for a better date. thanks husband, for being my favorite friend. and thanks parents, for always wanting to take care of our sweet max. we love you.
